Distilled in 1965 and married as new make spirit this unusual Vintage Blended Scotch Whisky has spent the following 56 years maturing in American oak where it has taken on rich, decadent notes of marzipan and fruitcake.

The Finer Details

Some whiskies may appear born to be paired together but very few are blended at birth. Yet such is the case with this unusual parcel of grain and malt, born 57 years ago and married –as new make spirit –before aging as a blend for half a lifetime in ex-bourbon American oak. Time has brought the malt and grain components together to create a Vintage Blended Scotch Whisky that has matured beautifully as a single spirit. This is not only one of the world’s first whiskies to be blended at birth, but also likely to be one of the last, for such practices are now prohibited by the powers that be within Scotch.

Matured for over half a century in ex-bourbon American White Oak casks.
Made by whisky making techniques no longer allowed today.
One of the first and last of its kind in the world.
Free from added colour.
Packaged in a hand-engraved, individually numbered decanter with ash display box featuring gold leaf inlay.

Nose

Rich notes of marzipan, Dundee cake and leather on the nose.
